About EveryTrophy
EveryTrophy publishes trophy and achievement guides that explain how you unlock each trophy, not just which ones exist. Every trophy comes with its method, a warning if it is missable and the real percentage of players who have it.
How we make each guide
This is the section that matters, because it is what separates a useful guide from a copied list. The process is always the same:
1. The names come from the official source, not from a translator
Every trophy carries the official name and description in English, the same ones the console shows, along with its rank (bronze, silver, gold or platinum) and a flag for hidden trophies. When a game has not been localised yet we say so: the name is marked as provisional, with the original beside it, and it is replaced as soon as the official localisation exists.
2. The method is written by playing
Every trophy is explained with what you have to do, where, at what point and what gates it. When information needs cross-checking we compare the game’s official sources against the public trophy lists, and if two sources contradict each other we verify before writing.
3. Missables are flagged up front, not afterwards
A missable trophy is the most expensive thing in a guide to ignore, so it is flagged on the game page and on the trophy’s own page, with the exact point past which you can no longer get it. Right now there are 94 trophies marked as missable on the site.
4. If we do not know, we say so
A page is only published and indexed once its trophies have a real method. And if there is something we do not know how to unlock, we say so in the guide itself instead of filling the gap with a sentence that just repeats the trophy’s name.
Where the percentages come from
The percentage you see on each trophy is the real share of players who have unlocked it, taken from player samples, not an invented difficulty estimate. On each page we state the source and the sample size, because 4% over 300 players and 4% over 60,000 are not the same data.
There is an important catch when comparing them across platforms, and almost nobody points it out:
- Steam works its out over everyone who owns the game, whether they have played it or not. That drags the percentage down.
- PlayStation, in the data we use, is worked out over tracked players, that is, people who have already unlocked at least one trophy.
That is why Steam’s always come out lower, and why it makes no sense to compare the 12% on a Steam achievement with the 12% on a PS5 trophy. The percentages are refreshed periodically and every game states when it was measured.
With that same data we publish our own studies: the exact point where people abandon a playthrough and which trophy really stops a platinum.
What you will find on each game
Every game page follows the same structure, so you know where to look:
- The platinum summary: difficulty, estimated hours, minimum playthroughs and what percentage of people get it.
- The full guide with the trophies one by one and their method.
- The missable trophies: which ones you can lose, and when.
- What counts towards the platinum and what does not, because DLC trophies almost never count.
- Topic guides for the long stretches: collectibles, bosses, missions or challenges.
Updates and corrections
Games get patched and trophies change their conditions. Every guide shows its update date, and when a patch changes something relevant the affected page is reviewed.
If you find a method that no longer works or a figure that does not add up, write to us: we fix it and update the date. It is the fastest way to improve the site.
Independence and transparency
- EveryTrophy is not affiliated with, sponsored by or endorsed by Sony, Microsoft, Valve or any developer or publisher. The names of the games, their trademarks and their artwork belong to their owners.
- As things stand the site has no advertising, no affiliate links and no sponsorships. If it ever had any, it would be declared visibly and the legal notice would be updated.
- No guide is written in exchange for anything or under a third party’s conditions.
- The site carries no advertising and no trackers. The only measurement is Google Analytics, to see which guides get read, and it does not switch on unless you accept it. We explain it in the cookie policy.
