Where Players Quit Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced

27.2% finish the story and 3.8% take the platinum. We analysed all 50 trophies across 29,210 players to explain a curve with no big steps: nobody quits the game at once, they trickle away across a 40-hour map.

No step exceeds 7.4 points: attrition is a trickle

Of the 49 trophies that count towards the platinum, sorted by rarity, the biggest drop between two consecutive ones is 7.4 points, and it happens twice: from the 95.3% of Lively Havana to the 87.9% of A Poxy Bird, taking command of the Jackdaw, and from the 74.8% of Walls That Hold Back The Wind to the 67.4% of Articles Of Agreement. After that, 6.7 and 6.1 points. Nothing more.

It is the curve of a game without walls. It fits the game itself: 0 missable trophies, difficulty affects none of them and one playthrough is enough. Nobody gets stuck on a specific trophy; people tire of a 40-hour map.

The group breakdown confirms it. The story average is 65.8%; open world, 38.9%; naval, 36.4%; combat, 31.2%; and Great Inagua, 19.2%. The more it asks you to roam, the fewer people do it, without any single trophy splitting the community in two.

One in four finish the story, and the jump is at Sequence 8

The five story trophies run from 95.3% to the 27.2% of Ever A Splinter, the game's only gold and the one marking the ending. It is a low completion rate for a game without walls, and the stretch where people are lost is clear.

From the 74.8% of Sequence 4, when Great Inagua opens, to the 43.7% of In A World Without Gold, Sequence 8, 31 points are lost: almost a third of all players, in the stretch where the map opens fully and the story stops pushing. From Sequence 8 to the end, another 16.5 points.

The contrast with the platinum says it all. Of the 27.2% who finish, 3.8% platinum: one in seven. And the trophy that decides that 3.8% is neither combat nor ships: it is Dilettante, filling the Great Inagua manor, at 3.9%. One tenth above the platinum. Whoever fills the manor has already done everything else.

Key

The Black Flag Resynced platinum is Dilettante: 3.9% against the platinum's 3.8%. The Great Inagua manor is the last trophy of almost every run.

The three rarest are about place, not skill

Below 10% there are three trophies, and none of them asks you to play better. Dilettante (3.9%) asks you to fill every slot in the manor: the game's entire tally in a single trophy. Blow The Man Down (6.9%) asks you to shoot down the hanging bodies in Long Bay, a place that does not exist until well into the story. Overdesign IV (7.3%) asks you to kick a berserk enemy caught in smoke off a ship: a combination of three things nobody triggers without knowing there is a trophy.

The combat group has the second-lowest average, 31.2%, and not because combat is hard: Backs To The Wall sits at 87.5%. It is because half its trophies ask for a specific situation you have to manufacture.

In a curve without walls, the rare trophies are the ones that ask you to know where and how, not the ones that ask you to endure.

All 50 trophies ranked by unlock rate

The full table you can reproduce any calculation on this page from. The «drop» column is the difference in points against the previous trophy that counts towards the platinum: the big steps are where people stop playing. Trophies marked separate are from DLC or from side modes that are not needed for the platinum, so they do not chain a drop — mixing them in would compare steps from different playthroughs.

Where this data comes from

Unlock rate of all 50 trophies on PS5, measured across 29,210 tracked players. Snapshot source: PSNProfiles, consulted on 31 August 2026, seven weeks after launch. All 50 count towards the platinum: there is no DLC and no separate mode.

The game has 0 missable trophies and 7 hidden ones; difficulty affects none of them.

A caveat about the sample: these are players who use a trophy tracker, a more motivated group than average. The real percentages across the whole PS5 player base are probably lower. The proportions between trophies, which is what we analyse, are not affected.

What this data cannot tell you

First, and this is what gets misread most: the curve sorts trophies by rarity, not by play order. When we say there is a 7.4-point drop between Walls That Hold Back The Wind and Articles Of Agreement, it means they are two consecutive rungs of that sorted list, not that people literally quit between one and the other.

Second: this is a snapshot of a single day, seven weeks after release. We do not know how fast the platinum got to 3.8%, nor whether it is still climbing; for a 40-hour game, seven weeks is not long. With one cut you cannot separate hard from long.

And third: the percentages measure behaviour, not difficulty. Great Inagua dropping to a 19.2% average says how many people do it, not how hard it is to do.
