Where Players Quit Battlefield 6

The most common trophy in Battlefield 6 is held by only 65.96%, and the one for the first campaign mission is already down to 43.41%. We analysed all 54 trophies across 67,895 players to see where the curve breaks in a game most people come to play online.

The curve does not start at 100%: it starts at 65.96%

In almost any game, practically everyone who boots it up has the most common trophy. Not here. The most widespread trophy in Battlefield 6 is "Private First Class Montes" —reaching rank 9 in multiplayer— and it is held by 65.96%.

Which means 34.04% of the sample does not even have the most common trophy in the game (100 − 65.96). A good third boot it up, play for a while and never even reach rank 9.

And note which trophy that is: a multiplayer one. The first campaign mission, "Stand Alone", is held by 43.41%. Divide it out and only 65.8% of the people who reach rank 9 have touched the campaign (43.41 ÷ 65.96). The front door of this game is the online mode; the story is the optional part.

More people are looting in REDSEC than finishing the first mission

The number that best captures this game is in the battle royale. "Collector" —looting 10 superior or unique items in REDSEC— is held by 57.53%.

That is 14.12 points above the trophy for the first campaign mission, which sits at 43.41% (57.53 − 43.41). More players have looted in a side mode than have cleared the opening mission of the main story.

Looking only at the trophies that do count towards the platinum, the biggest drop is −10.19 points, from the 60.48% of "Lance Corporal Matkovic" to the 50.29% of "Sergeant Redford", rank 25. That is the point where the casual player stops ranking up. The second biggest is the step into the campaign: −6.88 points, from 50.29% to 43.41%.

Fact

The three rank trophies go 65.96%60.48%50.29%. They are by far the most common in the game: the rank group averages 58.91%, more than double the next group (58.91 ÷ 27.52 = 2.14).

The campaign loses half its players, but the platinum is decided much later

From 43.41% to 23.44%: that is the span between starting the campaign and closing it with "Cloak and Dagger". 54.0% of the people who start it survive (23.44 ÷ 43.41), so almost half leave it half-finished. Measured against the most common trophy in the game, 35.5% have finished the story (23.44 ÷ 65.96).

Note that there is still plenty left inside the campaign itself: the least common campaign trophy sits at 14.35%, below the ending. Reaching the credits does not close the group.

But the big drop-off is not in the story. 6.45% have the platinum, so only 27.5% of the people who finish the campaign end up platinuming it (6.45 ÷ 23.44). The wall is multiplayer: the least common of all the trophies that count towards the platinum is "A Joyful Nurse" at 8.82%. And of the people who get it, 73.1% go on to finish the platinum (6.45 ÷ 8.82). Whoever gets that far, finishes.

The full table you can reproduce any calculation on this page from. The «drop» column is the difference in points against the previous trophy that counts towards the platinum: the big steps are where people stop playing. Trophies marked separate are from DLC or from side modes that are not needed for the platinum, so they do not chain a drop — mixing them in would compare steps from different playthroughs.

Where this data comes from

Unlock rate of all 54 trophies on PS5, measured across 67,895 tracked players. Snapshot source: Exophase, consulted on 21 August 2026. Every derived figure in the text is a direct division or subtraction between those percentages, shown in brackets so you can redo it yourself.

To calculate the drops we count the 42 trophies that close out the platinum and leave out the other 12: the 11 REDSEC ones, which are a separate mode and do not count, plus the platinum itself. Doing it this way matters: REDSEC has very widespread trophies —"Collector" is at 57.53%— and putting them on the same curve would compare steps from two different playthroughs as if they were consecutive.

A caveat about the sample: these are players who use a trophy tracker, a more motivated group than average. The real percentages across the whole PS5 player base are probably lower. The proportions between trophies, which is what we analyse, are not affected.

What this data cannot tell you

"Does not have it" is not the same as "gave up on it". This is a snapshot of a single day of a game that is still live. Some of those people will unlock tomorrow what they do not have today, so any low percentage mixes the people who left with the people who are going slowly.

Sorting by rarity is not the order you play in. We sort by percentage, not by chronology. One trophy being rarer than another does not prove it comes later, and a drop between two consecutive trophies in the table does not mean one leads to the other.

We cannot tell "did not want to" from "could not". We know 65.96% reach rank 9 and only 43.41% start the campaign, but the data does not say whether that gap is disinterest or players getting stuck. That this is a game people come to play online is the most reasonable explanation for the shape of the curve; it is not something the curve proves on its own.

The per-group figures are means, not medians. A single very widespread trophy pulls the mean up: in redsec the mean is 24.90% with a minimum of 11.34%, and inside that group sits "Collector" with its 57.53%. Read them as orientation, not as the typical trophy of the group.

And finally: it is a single snapshot and PS5 only. Without a time series you cannot separate hard from long, nor measure how fast the platinum is growing. From today we store a weekly snapshot of the 54 trophies, because that history cannot be recovered after the fact.
