Where Players Quit Elden Ring Nightreign
45.3% finish the story and 18.0% take the platinum. We analysed all 37 trophies across 57,421 players to explain why the wall is not any boss, but repeating with all eight characters.
The sample
PSNProfiles (PS5) · snapshot from 25/09/2026
The wall is in the tail: 18.6 points across the last three steps
The curve's last three steps add up to 18.6 points: from the 36.6% of Shifting Earth to the 29.3% of Obtained Vessels, then to the 19.8% of A Champion's Path and finally to the platinum's 18.0%. The drop between the vessels and A Champion's Path, 9.5 points, is the second largest on the whole curve.
None of those three is a boss. They are accumulation trophies: all four Shifting Earth events on the same save, the shop's eleven vessels and a win with each of the eight characters. And between A Champion's Path and the platinum there are only 1.8 points: whoever wins with all eight platinums.
Elden Ring Nightreign's curve does not break at a Nightlord: it breaks on repetition. The three rarest trophies do not ask you to beat anyone new.
The biggest drop, 11.9 points, sits right after the tutorial
The biggest drop between two consecutive trophies is 11.9 points: from the 93.2% of The Shrouded Roundtable Hold, which pops at the end of the tutorial, to the 81.3% of Relic, equipping your first relic. Equipping one only requires having played an expedition, so one in eight who reach the base never heads out again or never touches the altar.
The entry toll carries on until the first Nightlord: Tricephalos, beating Gladius, is at 73.2%. From the tutorial to the first win, 20.0 points are lost, more than across the whole stretch from Adel (61.8%) to beating all eight (45.2%).
Finishing the story sits 27.3 points above the platinum, and luck is not why
Dawn, the ending, is held by 45.3%; the platinum by 18.0%. That is 27.3 points: four in ten who see the ending platinum.
The natural suspect is luck, since five trophies depend on the map layout. The data does not back it up: the four raids average 51.5%, practically the same as the ten Nightlord trophies (53.7%), and the oldest gaol sits at 50.4%. The group with the lowest average is Shifting Earth (46.2%), and the next, the challenges (51.8%), is dragged down by a single trophy: A Champion's Path.
Between Vessel (62.4%) and beating all eight (45.2%) there are 22 trophies in a row with no step larger than 4.4 points. It is a plateau: whoever keeps playing picks them up. The curve only breaks when there is nothing new left to win.
All 37 trophies ranked by unlock rate
The full table you can reproduce any calculation on this page from. The «drop» column is the difference in points against the previous trophy that counts towards the platinum: the big steps are where people stop playing. Trophies marked separate are from DLC or from side modes that are not needed for the platinum, so they do not chain a drop — mixing them in would compare steps from different playthroughs.

Where this data comes from
Unlock rate of all 37 trophies on PS5, measured across 57,421 tracked players. Snapshot source: PSNProfiles, consulted on 25 September 2026, almost sixteen months after launch. The 36 non-platinum trophies all count towards it: The Forsaken Hollows expansion added no trophies.
The game has 0 missable trophies — every expedition can be replayed — and 28 hidden ones, nearly all the boss, secret, challenge and raid trophies.
A caveat about the sample: these are players who use a trophy tracker, a more motivated group than average. The real percentages across the whole PS5 player base are probably lower. The proportions between trophies, which is what we analyse, are not affected.
What this data cannot tell you
First, and this is what gets misread most: the curve sorts trophies by rarity, not by play order. When we say there is an 11.9-point drop between The Shrouded Roundtable Hold and Relic, it means they are two consecutive rungs of that sorted list, not that people literally quit between one and the other.
Second: this is a snapshot of a single day, almost sixteen months after release. We do not know how fast the platinum got to 18.0%, nor whether it is still climbing. With one cut you cannot separate hard from long: a low trophy can be low because it is demanding or because it is boring, and this data does not distinguish between the two.
And third: the percentages measure behaviour, not difficulty. A Champion's Path sitting at 19.8% tells you how many people have done it, not how hard it is; in a co-op game, it also depends heavily on who you play with.
