All 53 trophies ranked by unlock rate

The full table you can reproduce any calculation on this page from. The «drop» column is the difference in points against the previous trophy that counts towards the platinum: the big steps are where people stop playing. Trophies marked separate are from DLC or from side modes that are not needed for the platinum, so they do not chain a drop — mixing them in would compare steps from different playthroughs.

The question

When you look up how hard a game's platinum is, every site gives you the same number and none of them tells you where it came from. It is usually an estimate from someone who played it once, copied afterwards by everyone else.

There is a far better number and it is in plain sight: the percentage of players who hold each trophy. If 61% of players have the chapter 3 trophy and only 24% have the chapter 4 one, that jump tells you exactly where the game breaks. It is not an opinion, it is the behaviour of hundreds of thousands of people.

The problem is that this percentage is only published at its current value. Nobody stores how it evolves. And without the evolution you cannot tell a hard game from a long game: both have a platinum with a low percentage, but in one the number climbs slowly for months and in the other it freezes after three weeks.

How we measure it

An automated process will take a snapshot of the unlock rate of all 53 trophies once a week, always on the same day and at the same time, starting on launch day. Each snapshot is stored with its date and is never overwritten.

We do not correct or smooth the data. If a capture fails one week, the series will carry a declared gap instead of an interpolated value, because one invented data point contaminates everything calculated after it.

What we will publish and when

At 30 days: the first cut of the drop-off curve and the initial completion rate. At 90 days: measured difficulty, meaning how long the platinum took to stop growing. At 180 days: the comparison against the other games we are tracking, which is when the dataset starts to be genuinely worth something.

Everything will be published with the full series on show, gaps included. Anyone will be able to check the calculation.

Fact

This page is published before we have any data on purpose: tracking starts on 27 August and the history cannot be recovered after the fact. A month lost is a month that does not come back.

The three hypotheses we are going to test

First: the big step will be in the move from Hard to Expert, not in the campaign. The list has only seven story trophies and all of them are for completing missions, so the campaign should have a gentle drop.

Second: the trophy for the 50 optional missions will land at a much lower percentage than its difficulty justifies. Volume trophies are the ones most people give up on, not the hard ones.

Third: the "Legend" trophy, which requires Expert and Beskar Mode at the same time, will end up below 1.5% and will be the one that sets the platinum percentage.

We are publishing them now, before we have the data, so that anyone can check whether we got it right or wrong. An analysis you only show when it works out is worth nothing.
