From 75.3% for Episode 1 to 44.5% for Episode 16. The biggest drop, 8.7 points, comes in Episode 3, on reaching Australia; from Episode 9 to the end only 3.3 are lost.

Death Stranding 2: On the Beach trophy guide — Facilities and the chiral network

3 trophies

Three trophies, and the last is the platinum in practice: connecting the first facility (88.8%), all 42 (17.5%) and raising them all to level 5 (6.6%).

30 are connected through the story; the other 12 are optional and open by delivering lost cargo addressed to them or through sub orders from other facilities. None is missable: they can be connected in Episode 17.

Connect them as you go: they extend the network, and the network is what gives you other players' structures and the Mechanic's floating vehicle. The last optional one, in the Tar Lake area, has only a handful of lost cargo items in hard-to-reach places.

Level rises with Likes from orders that end at that facility, with lost cargo and with aid requests. Several optional ones stall around 80% of a level and ask for a sub order: they tell you with an SSS message. If a bar will not move and no message has arrived, you need to advance or finish the story; one of them does not rise until the post-game.

Switch on the APAS enhancement that shortens the standby time of completed standard orders and use the order search by destination. At facilities with few orders, repeat the heaviest ones, which give the most Likes.

Death Stranding 2: On the Beach trophy guide — Orders and porter grade

8 trophies

Eight order trophies: the first standard order, the three cumulative counters, the two Like trophies, porter grade and the S ranks.

They range from 77.8% for the first 2,400 Likes to 7.3% for Seasoned Porter, the second rarest trophy in the game.

Standard orders open in Episode 3, when you connect the Western Environmental Observatory, and are accepted at each facility's delivery terminal. They are the backbone of the whole platinum: they give Likes, raise connection level and count towards Seasoned Porter.

Seasoned Porter trophy icon

«Complete 10 deliveries, 10 recoveries, 10 elimination/destruction standard orders with an S rank in Casual difficulty or above.» · Seasoned Porter

What trips people up: S ranks on the lowest difficulty do not count, and if you lower the difficulty with an order accepted, that order counts at the lowest one even if you raise it again. Repeating the same order on another difficulty does not add either: it counts once.

The bottleneck is elimination and destruction, pooled into one quota because there are few of them: they grade the damage you take from the moment you accept the order, not just in the objective area. Accept and go straight there, and save right after accepting so you can retry.

The categories are deliveries, combat, stealth, service (aid requests and road, monorail and mine construction) and the one for your link with other players. Deliveries and service rise on their own with the platinum. The player link one speeds up by finishing road and monorail sections: every time another player uses them, Likes come your way.

Combat and stealth are the slow ones. The late main orders give a lot of both; to get ahead, take out enemies during normal deliveries or pass close to their camps without being detected.

Death Stranding 2: On the Beach trophy guide — Building, roads and monorail

Walk up to any structure built by another player and press the right side of the touchpad. It is the gesture that drives the whole system: the Likes you give and receive are what raise the player link category for A Premier Porter.

You access it from any private room, via the VR Training option or from weapon testing. There are two sets of programs, fundamentals and mastery; finishing any one of them once is enough. The first ones are tutorials of a couple of minutes.

Open the SSS from the wrist terminal menu and it pops as you enter. It is worth coming back: optional facilities announce their sub orders here when their connection stalls, and it is also where the birthday Episode 7 asks for is shown.

Open Photo Mode with the left side of the touchpad and take a screenshot. Then go into a private room at a facility, not the one on the ship, which does not count. Face the front or back wall, pick the option to change the screen image and choose your screenshot, the one marked with a grey rectangle in the corner.

Capture unlocks with Main Order No. 15, at the start of Episode 4. Animals an order asks for do not count: it has to be one you catch on your own and bring to the shelter. Scan with the Odradek and animals show up with a blue outline. The easiest are koalas, in the trees of the valley next to the shelter.

Each albino exists only once on the map and is almost entirely white. The easiest is the albino kangaroo, in the desert just north of the Data Scientist: being large, it stands out from afar. The Pioneer's aid requests, which ask for animal material from three places, mark the locations of the albino kangaroo, lyrebird and echidna.

Get into a hot spring at night under a clear sky and hold the button to look at the stars. The two with the fewest clouds are the one outside the Episode 7 facility and the one north-west of the Animal Shelter. If it is daytime or cloudy, sleep on the ship to pass time or change the weather.

Porters start roaming Australia and Mexico after Main Order No. 12. Walk up to one: sometimes they offer you an item by holding it out. Take it and then drop one of your own items on the ground. The trophy pops when the porter picks it up; if you only take theirs, there is no trade.

You need to have connected the Musician in Episode 3, which unlocks music in the private room and gives you the song Horizon Dreamer by Daichi Miura. The catch: it has to be the room on the ship, not one at a facility. Play that song, notice Dollman dancing by the door, talk to him and agree when he asks if you have a moment. You can leave right away: the trophy has already popped.

The platinum takes a single playthrough: there is no New Game+, nothing is missable, and finishing the story opens Episode 17, a post-game with the whole map available. Only two trophies need a connection: Promising Signs and A Premier Porter.

The wall is not the story, which 44.5% finish: it is raising all 42 facilities to connection level 5. Connecting Hearts and Minds is held by 6.6%, half a point above the platinum. Add 30 S ranks on standard orders and the 18 structures of Master Builder. Between 70 and 100 hours.
