Where Players Quit Crimson Desert
Only 18.99% of players finish the story and 4.49% get the platinum. We analysed the unlock rate of all 35 trophies across 22,166 players to find the exact points where the playthrough breaks down.
The sample
Exophase (PS5) · snapshot from 21/08/2026
59% quit before chapter 7
The biggest drop of the whole playthrough is not at the end, it is in the first third. 76.64% of players unlock "Master Camper" by setting up the base camp, one of the first things the game has you do. From there, only 40.60% reach chapter 7.
That is 36 points lost in a single stretch: more than half of the people who set up the camp never get to chapter 7. It is by far the point where Crimson Desert loses its players, and it lines up with the stretch where the open world fully opens up and the game stops guiding you.
It is not hard, it is long: the number that shows it
4.49% of players have the Crimson Desert platinum. On its own, that number looks like a brutally hard game. But it has to be read against the people who reach the end of the story, which is 18.99%.
That means 23.6% of the people who finish the story end up with the platinum. It is a very high conversion rate. In a genuinely hard game, most of the players who finish the campaign fall away on the road to 100% completion; here, almost one in four makes it all the way.
The conclusion is that the obstacle in Crimson Desert is not skill, it is stamina. Whoever decides to platinum it, platinums it. The filter comes earlier, in deciding to keep playing at all.
This fits the 6/10 difficulty rating the guides give it, and the fact that no trophy depends on the difficulty setting: the whole game can be played on Easy.
The last trophy is not one of the four golds
You would expect the rarest trophy after the platinum to be one of the golds: Expert Explorer, Unvanquished Strategist, Conqueror of the Abysses or Expert Storyteller. It is not.
The least common trophy in the whole game, platinum aside, is Natural Collector, at 4.58%, barely nine hundredths of a point above the platinum itself (4.49%). Behind it come True Gamer (4.83%) and Lord of Honor (4.97%). All four golds sit above them: Expert Explorer 5.29%, Unvanquished Strategist 5.04%.
In practice: almost everyone going for the platinum leaves Natural Collector for last, and it is the trophy that separates the people who get it from the people who stop one step short. If you are planning your playthrough, that is the one not to save for the final day.
The sanctums take care of themselves; the constellations do not
Within the exploration category there are huge gaps that difficulty does not explain. Lightbringer, which asks for all 16 sanctums, is held by 17.68% of players: almost as many people as finish the story. The sanctums are on your path and get completed just by playing normally.
Navigator of the Stars, which asks for the 13 constellations, sits at 7.24%. Conqueror of Spires, with 8 spires, at 13.07%. Fewer objectives, fewer people. The difference is not the count or the difficulty: it is that you do not stumble across constellations, you have to go looking for them on purpose.
All 35 trophies ranked by unlock rate
The full table you can reproduce any calculation on this page from. The «drop» column is the difference in points against the previous trophy that counts towards the platinum: the big steps are where people stop playing. Trophies marked separate are from DLC or from side modes that are not needed for the platinum, so they do not chain a drop — mixing them in would compare steps from different playthroughs.

Where this data comes from
Unlock rate of all 35 trophies on PS5, measured across 22,166 tracked players. Snapshot source: Exophase, consulted on 21 August 2026. Every calculation on this page can be reproduced from the full table further down.
An important caveat about the sample: these are players who use a trophy tracker, not players in general. That group is more motivated than average, so the real percentages across the whole PS5 player base are probably lower than these. The proportions between trophies, which is what we analyse here, are not affected.
What this analysis still cannot tell you
This is a snapshot of a single moment, five months after release. From one snapshot you cannot tell a hard game from a long game by looking at the platinum alone: in a hard game the number freezes early, and in a long one it keeps creeping up for months.
From today we store a weekly snapshot of these 35 trophies. From late September onwards we will be able to say how fast the platinum is growing, and finally separate the two. That history cannot be recovered after the fact: if you do not start saving it, it does not exist.
First snapshot of our own series: 21 August 2026. The rest, every Thursday.
