Where Players Quit Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy
Four days after launch, 13.2% had finished the story and 1.4% had the platinum. We analysed all 37 trophies across 1,284 players: a small sample that already shows where the campaign's three steps are.

Three consecutive steps at Chapters 2, 3 and 4: the drop is at the start
The curve's three biggest drops are consecutive and inside the campaign: 14.2 points from Chapter 2 (Felons, 81.6%) to 3 (Those before us, 67.4%), 13.9 points from 3 to 4 (From hell it rose, 53.5%), and 9.3 points from Chapter 1 (90.9%) to 2. In four chapters almost half of those who start are lost.
From Chapter 5, at 41.0%, the slope eases: the remaining nine chapters descend to the 13.2% of A new beginning in steps of one to five points. The story group averages 37.8%.
Part of that shape is the timing of the measurement: four days after launch, many people were still in the early chapters, and the story percentages will rise as the sample progresses. What is solid is the order: nobody has hit a wall at Chapter 9; people are either at the start or at the end.
A sample of 1,284 players four days after launch: the story percentages will rise. The proportions between chapters will not.
Of the 13.2% who finish, one in ten platinum: the wall is 67 items
A new beginning, finishing all 13 chapters, is held by 13.2%. The platinum, by 1.4%. Between the two there is no skill trophy explaining the distance: the five collectible trophies sit between 2.0% and 5.7%, with Hoarder and Superstitious at 2.0%, and the only missable, Like a warrior, at 2.2%.
That collectibles group has the game's lowest average, 3.0%, and it is the entire platinum: 37 relics, 8 blades, 30 charms, 5 echoes and the six mastery branches. The lowest combat trophy, Excessive force, sits at 2.7% for a different reason — it asks you to arrive with a full focus meter as a Corrupted grabs you, the opposite of what everyone does — but the rest of combat averages 18.3%.
The reading: Resonance is not hard, it is a tally game. Untouchable, six perfect parries in a row, is held by 15.4% even though the game can be played on invincible; the collectibles, invincible or not, are still 67 items.
The two easiest trophies in the game are held by 30%: nobody stops
The world group is two trophies: saying hello to a turtle and staying for a puppet show, in Chapters 2 and 3. They cost a minute and there is nothing to solve. They are held by 29.7% and 20.1%.
Compare with the chapters they sit in: Chapter 2 is finished by 81.6% and Chapter 3 by 67.4%. In other words, of every three people who cross the carnival square, two walk straight past the puppet stand; and of every three who reach the turtle, two do not crouch to greet it.
It is the pattern that repeats in every game we have measured, and in Resonance it is especially clean because both trophies sit in the first half, where the sample is large. The trophies that get lost are not the hard ones: they are the ones that require stopping when the story pushes you forward.
All 37 trophies ranked by unlock rate
The full table you can reproduce any calculation on this page from. The «drop» column is the difference in points against the previous trophy that counts towards the platinum: the big steps are where people stop playing. Trophies marked separate are from DLC or from side modes that are not needed for the platinum, so they do not chain a drop — mixing them in would compare steps from different playthroughs.

Where this data comes from
Unlock rate of all 37 trophies on PS5, measured across 1,284 tracked players. Snapshot source: PSNProfiles, consulted on 31 August 2026, four days after launch. All 37 count towards the platinum.
The game has 1 missable trophy, Like a warrior, and 19 hidden ones: the thirteen chapter trophies and six others.
The sample is the smallest of any we have analysed, and very early too: story percentages will rise for weeks, and so will the collectible ones. What does not change over time is the relative shape — which trophies sit ahead of which — and that is what we analyse. And as always: these are players who use a tracker, more motivated than average; the real percentages across the whole PS5 player base are probably lower.
What this data cannot tell you
First, and this is what gets misread most: the curve sorts trophies by rarity, not by play order. In Resonance the chapter trophies match play order, but the rest do not: Returning the favor (49.9%) appears between Chapters 4 and 5 on the list because its percentage lands there, not because it is earned there.
Second: this is a snapshot of a single day, four days after launch, across 1,284 players. It is the smallest and earliest sample of all our studies. The 13.2% completion and 1.4% platinum are the starting point of a series, not a result. With one cut you cannot separate hard from long.
And third: the percentages measure behaviour, not difficulty. The collectibles sitting at a 3.0% average says how many people had completed them after four days, not how hard they are to complete.
