The drop-off is not in the story, it is in the second run

Silent Hill f retains far better than average during the campaign: 99.01% clear the first chapter and 65.13% reach the end. Two out of every three people who start it finish it, which for a survival horror game is remarkable.

The collapse comes right after. The four endings you have to trigger in New Game+ all drop at once into the 26% to 29% band. In a single step, more than half the players are gone.

That jump from 65 to 29 is not a difficulty question: it is the moment the player finds out there are three more runs ahead and decides whether to commit.

Whoever starts the second run gets the platinum

And here is the other side of the same number. 20.99% of players have the platinum, and 29.19% have the first additional ending.

Which means 72% of the people who start a second playthrough end up with the platinum. Once someone decides to replay Silent Hill f, they almost never stop.

Measured against finishing the story, the conversion is still very high: nearly one in three of the people who complete the game reach 100% completion. Nobody on the EveryTrophy team had seen a rate like that in a survival horror game.

Fact

In practice: the hard decision in this platinum is not any single trophy, it is starting the second playthrough. If you start it, statistically you have it.

The top difficulty is the real filter, not the collectibles

Compare the two action difficulty trophies: Hard is held by 31.98% and Lost in the Fog by only 22.39%. Almost ten points of drop between one setting and the next.

"Clear Skies" is in fact the least common trophy in the whole game after the platinum. It also sits below several of the collectible trophies, which means there are players who have everything else and get stuck exactly there.

If you are planning your route, that is the trophy that decides whether you finish. The collectibles look scarier but weigh less.

The oddity: the easy puzzle trophy is rarer than the hard one

One detail that jumps out when you sort the data: "Wise Researcher", which asks you to finish with puzzle difficulty on Hard, is held by 53.38% of players. More than half.

But "Intellectual Pursuits", which only asks you to finish on Story, is held by 39.38%. Fewer people have the easy one than the hard one.

The explanation is that most players do not run their first playthrough on Story puzzles but go straight to Hard, and afterwards they do not feel like dialling it back. It is a good reminder that rarity measures behaviour, not difficulty: if you leave "Intellectual Pursuits" for last, you will owe yourself an extra run just for that.

The full table you can reproduce any calculation on this page from. The «drop» column is the difference in points against the previous trophy that counts towards the platinum: the big steps are where people stop playing. Trophies marked separate are from DLC or from side modes that are not needed for the platinum, so they do not chain a drop — mixing them in would compare steps from different playthroughs.

Where this data comes from

Unlock rate of all 57 trophies on PS5, measured across 19,366 tracked players. Snapshot source: Exophase, consulted on 21 August 2026. Every calculation can be reproduced from the full table further down.

A caveat about the sample: these are players who use a trophy tracker, a more motivated group than average. The real percentages across the whole PS5 player base are probably lower. The proportions between trophies, which is what we analyse, are not affected.

What this snapshot still cannot tell you

It is a snapshot of a single moment, eleven months after release. From today we store a weekly snapshot of the 57 trophies, and with that we will be able to say how fast the platinum is growing and finally separate hard from long.

That history cannot be recovered after the fact: if you do not start saving it, it does not exist.
