Unknown Signal requires 100% of every sector, and no description says so

The epilogue is the platinum's hidden requirement: its ten challenges open with 100% of the collectibles in every sector. What counts, what does not, where the counter's traps are, and why the Mini Cabins sit apart.

The ten challenges and the Black Box mod

Unknown Signal is the epilogue that opens after finishing the game once. You start in the Shelter and the tram takes you to a special sector with ten pods, each holding a challenge: combat, platforming, all sorts. Only the first is open.

Clearing it awards A Lunar Challenge (30.4%) and reactivates the tram to every story region. And here is what no description tells you: the remaining challenges unlock by reaching 100% of the collectibles in every sector and by defeating again, in buffed form, the bosses of the Solar Power Plant, Mass Production Array, Terra Dome and Lunum Mines.

Everything collected on the first run carries over, so whatever is missing is cleaned up here, with the tram open. Completing all ten challenges hands you the Black Box mod: it must be equipped for the final encounter — a stronger version of the last boss — and you have to finish. Without the mod there is no extra scene and no The Right Man for the Job (17.0%).

The contrast says it all: Our Promise is held by 51.9% and the epilogue by 17.0%. Two out of three people who finish Pragmata never close Unknown Signal, and the reason is the collectibles, not the challenges.

Careful

The Black Box mod awarded by the ten challenges must be equipped for Unknown Signal's final encounter. Without it the trophy does not pop and the buffed boss has to be repeated.

What counts towards 100% and what does not

The five sectors with progress are the Solar Power Plant, Mass Production Array, Terra Dome, Lunum Mines and Central Port; Advanced Pragmatics has no collectibles at all. Reaching 100% in one awards Cradle Surveyor (53.5%).

All of this counts: 70 Safe Boxes, 21 units of Pure Lunum, 5 Storage Expanders, 6 Training Data, 16 REMs, 22 Mods, 2 Cartridge Holders, the 27 escape hatches and the Red Zones. Along the way that yields Escape Artist (48.2%), Red-Zoned and Loving It (79.9%), Wall? What Wall? (80.5%) and Top-Shelf Item (67.2%), which only asks you to spend one unit of Pure Lunum on an upgrade.

The 15 Mini Cabins do not count. There are three per sector and they must be shot, not picked up. Because they are not part of the progress, the game's counter does not tell you which are missing: that is why Mini-Hunter Supreme sits at 13.8% when 53.5% reach 100% in a sector.

Two more traps. The counter counts each collectible as two: a level with 5 boxes shows as 10, and the first takes it to 2/10. Nothing is missing. And Can't Stop, Won't Stop (21.2%) asks you to print every weapon, node and ability once before the story ends: those stuck one short usually never bought the hacking modes or auto-hacking, which count as abilities.

Fact

The 15 Mini Cabins do not count towards sector 100% and the game does not tell you which are missing. There are three per sector and they must be shot.
