The journey, the eight jobs and the 200 conversations
Master of Trades asks you to unlock all eight, not master them, and three skills in your current job already opens the next. Ten story, party and exploration trophies, plus the gear nobody finds.
And it counts towards The Door to Hell, Champion of the Continent, Traveler from Zero, The Summoned, Job Master, A Special Kinship, Master of Orsterra, Informed Adventurer, Battle-Tested Gear, required for the platinum.
The journey's four milestones
Set Sail — 65.15%. Secure your own ship. It is the milestone that opens navigation and with it a good part of the map. From here you reach areas that were closed before, and that is where some of the battle-tested gear sits.
The Gate to Hell — 51.89%. Arrive in Hell, within the Bestower's line. It is one of the points where the game changes tone and difficulty. If you are going for the platinum, arrive with the secondary jobs already unlocked: the margin narrows from here.
Champion of the Continent — 46.73%. Reach the end of your journey. It is gold, and fewer than half of everyone who starts the game finishes it, which is a normal figure for a JRPG of this length.
And it does not close the game: post-game content follows.
Traveler from Zero — 42.99%. Embark on a new journey: this is the post-ending content's trophy, unlocked after the previous one.
Here is the reassuring figure: only four points separate finishing the story from entering the post-game. Almost everyone who sees the credits keeps playing. And most importantly: it is still the same run. The platinum can be earned in a single playthrough, so there is no need to start over for anything.
The eight jobs: unlock, not master
Master of Trades — 54.88%. Obtain all secondary jobs.
The nuance matters and changes the work considerably: it asks you to unlock all eight, not master them. You do not need to learn all their skills.
And one detail speeds things up enormously: obtaining 3 skills in your current job already lets you unlock the next. People who lose this trophy usually stayed squeezing one job instead of rotating.
The Summoned — 43.8%. Become allies with all travellers. It is gold, and it is not a story trophy: you have to recruit each character separately, and several require specific path actions or enough progress to have influence. Talk to everyone in every town you return to.
A Special Bond — 56.96%. Reach the highest amity level with a companion. One is enough, and amity rises through time together: keeping them in the party, talking to them and sharing camp moments.
The advice: pick who early and do not take them out of the party. Splitting your time between several is how you finish the game with nobody maxed.
All of Orsterra, 200 conversations and the gear nobody finds
The three trophies that require leaving the path, all three below 63%:
Informed Adventurer — 62.31%. Obtain information from 200 townspeople using path actions, the ones that let you inquire and draw things out of village characters.
Two hundred is a lot of people, so it pays to start early. And an important warning: some path actions only work once you have enough influence, which is earned by progressing. If someone resists you early on, come back later.
Master of Orsterra — 42.38%. Travel to every location on the map. It is among the most resistant because it requires sweeping all of Orsterra, not just following the story. Having the ship early helps a lot here: a good part of the map does not exist until you sail.
Battle-Tested Gear — 41%. Obtain all 9 pieces of battle-tested equipment.
And this is the one most people leave unfinished, for a very specific reason: they do not come from chests. You have to get them from high-level characters through path actions, which means having enough influence and, in some cases, persisting.
They are not marked on the map and you do not stumble across them. It is the game's only collectible that requires hunting people rather than places, and that is why it is the lowest of the three.
All three share the same activity — talking to people — so it pays to do them together, alongside Wishvale's residents and recruiting travellers. Five trophies fed by the same gesture.
