Why this trophy is the platinum

There is one figure that explains everything about this game: Dilettante is held by 3.9% of players, and the platinum by 3.8%.

A tenth of a point apart means practically everyone who fills the Great Inagua manor ends up platinuming. There is no other obstacle behind it. This trophy *is* the platinum, and the other forty-nine are the road to it.

It is 111 objects across six collections:

- 41 art pieces - 20 ship models - 18 swords - 12 pistols - 11 portraits - 9 paintings

And here is the distinction that sets this trophy apart from any other collectible: finding them is not the problem. The problem is that a good share of the art pieces are not on the map: they are random rewards from the Kenway Fleet minigame, and those missions run in real time.

Which means it is not a trophy you can push through at the end. It is a trophy you start on day one and leave running in the background while you play everything else.

Key

The game's codex carries hints about where whatever you are missing comes from. When you are down to a few objects, look there before sweeping the map blind.

The save trick: from 30 hours to 15

The Kenway Fleet works like this: you send your ships on missions, those missions take real time, and on return they hand you a reward. Some of those rewards are art pieces, and they show up or not at random.

Play it straight and you can send five missions, wait however long, and get none. Repeat that twenty times and there go your hours.

The method to force it:

1. Send your fleet on several missions at once — the piracy ones, skull icon, and the trade ones, scales icon. 2. Wait for them all to complete, but do not hand them in or check the reports. 3. Make a manual save right before turning them in. 4. Turn the missions in and look at which new missions appear. The game shows you the reward before you accept, so you can see whether it carries an art piece. 5. If none does, load the save from step 3 and repeat.

That practically guarantees a piece per round. The measured difference is around 14-15 hours with the method against more than double without it.

What the trick does not solve: the missions' completion time still runs in real time. Which is why you start early.

Key

Keep your fleet stocked with at least 3-star ships: more stars means more health, and fewer repairs. Repairs eat linen, the most annoying resource to come by. Piracy missions use brigs and trade missions use schooners.

The other three Great Inagua trophies

The manor and the village give four trophies in total, and the other three are far more accessible.

TrophyHeld byWhat to do
Governor45.6%Restore every building in the village. The first level of each is enough: you do not need to take them to 3. It costs around 24,000 reales, and the money you put in comes back on its own, because the more restored the village, the more the manor's chest collects over time.
The Memory of My Enemy8.1%Hang all 11 portraits in the manor. They unlock as the story advances, near the targets you eliminate, and some also require a side quest. The most demanding one needs you to have recruited every officer and completed the A World Without Gold line.
Zero Waste19.0%Restore a single map from fragments. First you have to build the treasure trader in the village, one of the buildings you already restore for Governor. Fragments come from chests, smuggler dens, fleet missions and, rarely, from animals.
Key

The three are chained: Governor unlocks the trader you need for Zero Waste, and restoring the village is also what makes the manor's chest generate the money you will pay for everything else with. Do them in that order.

The 4 trophies that come down to luck in Black Flag Resynced
None is hard to execute and all four stall the same way, because they depend on the game spawning the event. One can be forced with a save; the other three cannot.
Maxing out the Jackdaw: the eleven forts and the legendary ships
Devil of the Caribbean sits at 8.4% and Ship This at 17.2%. They are the same problem: without a maxed ship there is no fight. The right order, where the money comes from, and why difficulty does not matter.
The Kenway Fleet: board instead of sinking
Every ship you sink is a ship that never joins your fleet. The four classes Collective Madness asks for, how to find a convoy, and why fleet slots depend on Great Inagua.
Underwater: the seven dives, the Black Trench and the 57 locations
The Sequence 6 diving bell opens four trophies at once, and one of them — Cartographer — stays locked forever if you never go down. How to do them in a single pass.
Officers, Templars and smugglers: the side content that unlocks trophies
Two of the five officers hand you abilities other trophies need, and without them the button does nothing. Plus the Templar hunts, the five smuggler dens, and the island where Owned takes ten minutes.
The eight trophies you only miss because you never knew they existed
Blow The Man Down sits at 6.9% and Edward Catway at 8.3%, and neither is hard. Eight trophies that are trivial to execute and whose only barrier is knowing: where they are and why people walk straight past.
The tavern games: the game's hardest trophy is not a fight
Grandmaster sits at 7.5%, below the legendary ships. Draughts, fanorona and nine men's morris against an AI that genuinely wins, and the two-machines-against-each-other method.
Boar, shark and ocelot: the three animal trophies and their coordinates
Double Tap sits at 13.2% and the game's best opportunity passes in the first few minutes, once. The three animal trophies, and the counter-intuitive advice they share: do not kill the second beast.
The seven combat feats: three need gear you have to buy first
Let Me Explain and Gun-kata are not failed through clumsiness: they are failed because the weapon you carry has a cap. The seven on-foot combat trophies, with each one's gear requirement.
The five story trophies: where they land and where people quit
From 95.3% to 27.2% across twelve sequences. None is missable, but one of the five opens Great Inagua and decides when the platinum really begins.
