The shared rule: do not kill the second animal

Two of these three trophies ask you to repeat a defensive reaction several times in a row, and in both the mistake is the same: killing animals.

With two beasts alive you get enough attacks to chain what the trophy wants. With only one, you sit waiting between attacks and the rhythm falls apart.

Put like that it sounds obvious, but it runs against everything the game has taught you up to that point, which is to reduce threats. That is why Double Tap sits at 13.2% and Matador at 15.3%: they are not failed through difficulty, they are failed because people clear the area before trying.

A curious wrinkle: in Matador the advice half-inverts. If there are two wild pigs, kill one first, because with both alive you get chained charges and it is easy to eat one. With a single pig you have all the time in the world between charges. The difference is that here you are not chaining: you are accumulating.

Double Tap and Matador: where and when

Double Tap — 13.2%. Parry two ocelot attacks in rapid succession.

The game's best opportunity is also its first: right after getting the Jackdaw you stop at an island where the story makes you kill two ocelots. Both cats are there, attacking, and there is plenty of time between one parry and the next.

The advice: do not damage them until the trophy pops. Kill one and you are left with a single ocelot attacking, and the rhythm falls apart. With both alive you get enough attacks.

Matador — 15.3%. Dodge a total of three wild pig charge attacks.

Find an island with boars. When one winds up to charge, the red warning flash lights up: that is the moment to dodge, not before, not after.

A convenient spot is Mayaguana Island, at coordinates 850, 513. And since it is cumulative, the three charges need not be consecutive or from the same animal.

Perfect Predator: perfect does not mean fully charged

Perfect Predator — 23.9%. Get a perfect harpoon shot on a great white shark.

First, where: the sea hunts appear on the map once you have captured the forts. The great white's sits towards the centre-south; there is one at coordinates 490, 303.

And here is the nuance that decides the trophy, because the game does not explain it: "perfect" does not mean charging the harpoon fully. You release it when the cursor glows, not before, not after. Overcharge and the shot counts as a shot but does not count as perfect, and that is the difference between throwing twenty harpoons for nothing and getting it on the second try.

Recommended gear: harpoon upgraded to at least level 2, with the boat and ammunition maxed. The great white hits back, and a failed hunt means sailing to the spot all over again.

The Great Inagua manor: the 111 objects that decide the platinum
Dilettante is held by 3.9% and the platinum by 3.8%: whoever fills the manor, platinums. Here is the breakdown and the save trick that halves the time.
The 4 trophies that come down to luck in Black Flag Resynced
None is hard to execute and all four stall the same way, because they depend on the game spawning the event. One can be forced with a save; the other three cannot.
Maxing out the Jackdaw: the eleven forts and the legendary ships
Devil of the Caribbean sits at 8.4% and Ship This at 17.2%. They are the same problem: without a maxed ship there is no fight. The right order, where the money comes from, and why difficulty does not matter.
The Kenway Fleet: board instead of sinking
Every ship you sink is a ship that never joins your fleet. The four classes Collective Madness asks for, how to find a convoy, and why fleet slots depend on Great Inagua.
Underwater: the seven dives, the Black Trench and the 57 locations
The Sequence 6 diving bell opens four trophies at once, and one of them — Cartographer — stays locked forever if you never go down. How to do them in a single pass.
Officers, Templars and smugglers: the side content that unlocks trophies
Two of the five officers hand you abilities other trophies need, and without them the button does nothing. Plus the Templar hunts, the five smuggler dens, and the island where Owned takes ten minutes.
The eight trophies you only miss because you never knew they existed
Blow The Man Down sits at 6.9% and Edward Catway at 8.3%, and neither is hard. Eight trophies that are trivial to execute and whose only barrier is knowing: where they are and why people walk straight past.
The tavern games: the game's hardest trophy is not a fight
Grandmaster sits at 7.5%, below the legendary ships. Draughts, fanorona and nine men's morris against an AI that genuinely wins, and the two-machines-against-each-other method.
The seven combat feats: three need gear you have to buy first
Let Me Explain and Gun-kata are not failed through clumsiness: they are failed because the weapon you carry has a cap. The seven on-foot combat trophies, with each one's gear requirement.
The five story trophies: where they land and where people quit
From 95.3% to 27.2% across twelve sequences. None is missable, but one of the five opens Great Inagua and decides when the platinum really begins.
