The tool: restart section

Resonance splits each chapter into sections and lets you restart the current section from the pause menu. That turns any fight in the game into a repeatable test range: you fight, take what you can, pause, restart, and the same enemies are back in the same place.

With that, the combat trophies stop being a matter of luck and become a matter of picking the spot. And there are two good spots.

The Chapter 4 bridge: bottles and drops

Almost as Chapter 4 begins you reach a bridge with several soldiers and a great many bottles on the ground. That spot closes two trophies at once:

- No holds barred: stun 20 enemies with throwables. - Overboard: kill 20 enemies by pushing them off a drop.

And they come from the same action, because an enemy stunned by a bottle is an enemy that is easy to kick off the bridge.

The loop:

1. Grab a bottle with R3 and throw it at a soldier to stun him. 2. Kick him with triangle until he goes off the bridge. 3. Repeat with the next one. 4. When only the archer is left, pause and restart the section.

Two or three rounds and both trophies are gone. The one caveat: if you have the Predestined Impact skill, Sophia pockets the object the first time you press R3, so you press it twice to throw.

The Chapter 10 bridge: the rest of the block

The first fight of Chapter 10 is against a very large group, and four more trophies fit in there:

- Returning the favor: kill a knife-carrying enemy, pick the knife up with R3 and throw it at an archer at the far end of the bridge. - Inherited brutality: fill the focus meter, stand among four already-weakened enemies and use the focus attack. - Skilled maneuverer: gather three enemies, wait for one to attack and throw him into the other two with Echo's Return. - Sharp enough for you?: finish as many as you can with a critical (hold square), then restart the section.

Untouchable deserves its own paragraph, because it is the one most people fail. It asks for six perfect parries in a row, and although the description does not say so, they have to fit inside two or three seconds: take a hit, miss a parry or attack in between, and the count resets.

The comfortable way to get it is to raise the difficulty to Nightmare and turn invincible mode on. It sounds contradictory and is not: on Nightmare the enemies attack far more — which is exactly what you need — and invincible mode blocks no trophy, so you can keep trying indefinitely without reloading the checkpoint.
