Resonance points: the only missable trophy and how not to blow it
Like a warrior asks for 165 of the run's 200 resonance points, and they are the only collectible chapter select does not give back. A margin of 35 and no safety net.
The rule, in one sentence
Every collectible in Resonance can be picked up afterwards, from chapter select. Every one except the resonance points.
That sentence is the whole game from a trophy point of view. Like a warrior asks you to unlock the six mastery branches, and buying them all costs 165 resonance points. The run contains 200.
Margin: 35 points. Enough to slip up a little, not enough to ignore them.
Finish the campaign on 160 and there is nothing to be done: there is no New Game+, and replaying the chapter where you left the points does not give them back. The only way out is a second full run.
It is the game's only missable trophy. Everything else — relics, blades, charms, echoes and even the combat trophies — can be mopped up from chapter select.
Where the 200 points come from
Resonance points are not a hidden collectible in the usual sense. They come from three places, two of them automatic:
- Story fights. Finishing the mandatory encounters awards points. These cannot be missed. - The main path. A good share of the loose points sit in plain view or one step off the normal route, often next to another collectible. - Optional corners. A minority are off-route, and those are the ones people lose.
That spread is the good news: explore normally and reaching the number is the normal outcome. The problem shows up when someone plays Resonance like a corridor, moving scene to scene, and arrives at the end on 140.
The second piece of good news is that the game tracks the count per chapter. Chapter select shows how many collectibles you have and how many are missing in each one, so there is no guessing.
How to play the run so you don't blow it
Three decisions, none of which costs time:
1. Buy the masteries as you go, not at the end. The trophy pops when you unlock the sixth branch, not when you finish the game. And buying as you go makes you play better anyway.
2. Check the collectible counter before changing chapters. You do not need to do it every time; a glance every two or three chapters is enough to spot a systematic shortfall.
3. If you reach Chapter 10 well under halfway, fix it now. At the midpoint you should be around 100. Correcting in Chapter 10 is annoying; finding out in Chapter 13 means starting over.
And a practical note on invincible mode: it blocks no trophy at all. If surviving is costing you and that makes you rush through the environments, turn it on. Exploring calmly is exactly what this trophy rewards.
