One trophy per character: Overcharge, Stains, Virtuose Stance, Foretell, Rank S and Monoco’s wheel

Each character has their own mechanic and a trophy that tests it. How to set each one up on purpose, which enemy to do it against and why Monoco’s, at 30.1%, is the hardest.

The rule: an enemy that lasts

The six technique trophies run from Overcharge’s 77.5% to Wheel Control’s 30.1%. None is missable, and all of them ask for the same thing: several turns in a row doing something specific. That is why the common advice is to do them against an enemy with lots of health, a boss or a Mime, dodging between turns so the chain does not break.

CharacterTrophyThe key
GustaveOvercharge (77.5%)Gauge at 10 against the prologue Mime
VersoPerfection (58.0%)Climbs by dealing damage and drops when taking it; the central skill of his tree gives Rank S on a Break
LunePerfect Flow (50.4%)Each skill consumes the Stain the previous one left
MaelleSynergy (41.6%)Burn, Virtuose Stance, mark and Percée
ScielMaximisation (37.8%)The cap of 20 only exists in Twilight; the Chation weapon helps
MonocoWheel Control (30.1%)One skill per mask and AP lent by the party

Gustave and the Break: two trophies in the prologue

Overcharge and Time to Spill Some Ink (80.4%) come in the same fight. The prologue Mime hides behind a wall that only falls to a Break: fill Gustave’s gauge to 10 with attacks and fire the Overcharge. If you let it slip, do it as soon as possible in any long fight: Gustave is the character you start with, and it is not worth putting off.

Monoco: the wheel and all his skills

Monoco has two trophies, and both require him in the party. For Wheel Control, equip one skill of each mask type so there is always one matching the wheel, and feed him AP with items during the others’ turns, because on his own he cannot last four turns.

For Feet Collection (17.0%), Monoco learns each skill by defeating the enemy that uses it, but only if he is in the active party when the fight ends. The Endless Tower gathers almost every enemy in the game, and since an update no skill is missable.

Other Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 guides

Clair Obscur’s four missables, and two of them are in the prologue
The platinum fits in one playthrough if none of this slips: the prologue Mime, the camp scene after the first Axon, the Truth answer to Maelle and never killing a Nevron with a quest. What can be missed, when, and what is no longer missable after 1.5.0.
Journals, records and Gestrals: the collectibles are rarer than Simon
Clair Obscur’s two rarest trophies are collectibles: 49 journals and 33 records, in a game with no per-zone counter. What each one counts, how many there are, what requires flying with Esquie and the detail that stops the Nevron quests from popping.
Clair Obscur optional bosses: what order to do them in and how to reach Simon
Sprong, the Chromatic Pétank, the Serpenphare, Clea, the Painting Workshop, the 33 Endless Tower fights and Simon: the order that makes each one easier than the last, the trick to each fight and how to get Professional without risk.
All five relationships to level 7: the quest each one needs and the answer not to give
Sciel, Monoco, Maelle, Lune and Esquie at level 7 are five trophies, and they also unlock the level 3 Gradient Attack and Esquie’s diving. When each level opens, which quest the step from 5 to 6 requires and the Maelle answer that ruins it all.
Level 99 and a weapon at 33: the only part of the platinum that is grind
Six progression trophies: the first weapon upgrade, a weapon at level 33, Lumina and levels 33, 66 and 99. Which material is always missing, why level 99 is best left for just before Simon and where levelling is fastest.
All 18 story trophies, act by act, and what to do in each
No story trophy can be missed, but each act opens something the platinum needs: the Curator, relationships, Esquie’s flight. From the prologue’s 84.9% to the ending’s 43.2%, with what to do in each stretch.
