Silksong has 34 trophies on PS5 and 52 achievements on Steam: what changes

The PC version has 18 achievements that do not exist on PlayStation, Steel Soul mode included. Compared against Valve's official data.

Two different lists for the same game

Hollow Knight: Silksong has 34 trophies on PlayStation 5 and 52 achievements on Steam. It is not a miscount: they are two lists designed differently.

The Steam figure comes from Valve's official API, which publishes the full list and the percentage of owners holding each achievement. The PS5 one comes from the trophy list published by Team Cherry.

Fact

This is more common in multiplatform games than it looks: PlayStation caps how many trophies a game can have and how they split across ranks, and Steam imposes no limit at all.

What Steam has that PS5 does not

The 18 extra achievements in the Steam version fall into three clear blocks:

Individual bosses. On PS5 there is only a trophy for the Bell Beast, the two Lace fights, Grand Mother Silk and Lost Lace. On Steam many more of the game's bosses get an achievement of their own.

The Journal. Steam rewards filling the Hunter's Journal halfway and in full. On PS5 there is no journal trophy at all.

Steel Soul. The permadeath mode has two achievements of its own on Steam and none on PlayStation. And they are, by some distance, the rarest on the whole PC list.

Steel Soul: the mode that gives you nothing on PS5

It deserves its own section. Steel Soul is Silksong's permadeath mode: one life for the entire playthrough.

On Steam it has two achievements of its own. We list them next to the two speedrun ones, the other Steam exclusives, because the percentages speak for themselves:

If you play on PS5, Steel Soul gives you no trophy at all. It is pure content: it does not count towards the platinum.

Why Steam and PS5 percentages cannot be compared directly

This is an important nuance and it almost never gets explained. The two percentages do not measure the same thing.

Valve calculates its figure across everyone who owns the game on Steam, whether they have played it or not. The PlayStation data we use here is calculated across tracked players, meaning people who have unlocked at least one trophy.

That is why the same milestone produces different numbers: 100% game completion is held by 16.7% of owners on Steam and 24.35% of tracked players on PS5. It is not that more people complete it on PS5: it is that the comparison base excludes everyone who bought the game and never touched it.

The practical rule: Steam percentages always come out lower than PlayStation ones for the same objective. Compare Steam with Steam and PSN with PSN.
