The thirteen mechanics: the blood extractor and the trophy it clashes with
One trophy asks you to finish the game without Grace ever using the blood extractor, and two in this block demand precisely the opposite. Thirteen tutorial trophies and the conflict you have to plan around.
And it counts towards Like Mother, Like Daughter, Fatal Dose, Science!, The Power of Blood, Blood! More Blood!, Bring Out the Big Guns, The Hunt Begins, Can I Borrow This?, Chop Chop, Retail Therapy, Tailor Made, Road Rage, required for the platinum.
The blood extractor conflict
First of all, the warning to read before starting your run.
The Power of Blood — 94.46%. Craft an item using the blood extractor.
Blood Feast — 92.78%. Use 300 units of infected blood in crafting. It is a counter and it can be stacked by reloading a save: spend, reload, repeat. You do not have to play 300 times.
And the problem: one trophy asks you to finish the game WITHOUT Grace ever using the extractor. They are incompatible in the same run.
The correct plan is simple: do these two on the normal lap and the other on a separate one. If you are on the Minimalist lap, the one that forbids the extractor, that is not the lap for farming blood.
Since the platinum already asks for several runs — and Madhouse unlocks the lower difficulties at once — the natural split is: a normal lap where you do blood and everything else, and another where you hold back.
Heavy Artillery — 86.09%. Stun the Girl with the Requiem. The Girl is the game's stalker: she appears, she hunts you and she cannot be killed, only slowed. The Requiem is the heavy revolver.
Stunning her once is enough. The practical advice: save a shot for when she has you cornered, which is when you genuinely need it and the trophy pops along the way.
The Power of Blood and Blood Feast are incompatible with the trophy that forbids Grace the extractor. Split them across two runs and do not farm blood on the wrong lap.
The ten tutorial ones and where each first time is
Ten trophies that ask you to do something once, all above 87%. Their value lies in knowing where each one's first opportunity is, because doing them when they appear is free and hunting them later costs a lap.
Can I Borrow That? — 96.93%. Throw a weapon dropped by an enemy, as Leon. The first opportunity comes very early, in the prologue: enemies drop what they carry when they fall. It does not have to kill anyone, throwing is enough.
The Hunt Begins — 96.11%. Destroy a Mr. Raccoon keepsake. They are the series' hidden figures and there are 25 in the whole game; destroying any one pops this, and all 25 award another. It is the game's most common trophy: it is impossible to play without stumbling into one.
Out of Sight, Out of Mind — 96.11%. Store an item in the chest as Grace.
Eureka! — 94.84%. Unlock a diagram through analysis.
Lethal Dose — 94.75%. Kill a zombie with a hemolytic injector.
Like Father, Like Daughter — 93.15%. Open a drawer with a lockpick.
Butchery — 93.11%. Kill 3 zombies by finishing them with the axe, as Leon. And the nuance to know: the finisher is not a normal attack, the R2 prompt appears when the enemy is on the ground. You have to knock them down first, and shooting the legs drops them so the prompt appears by itself.
Trigger Finger — 92.18%. Upgrade a weapon with a part. The first chance is the compensator in the patient centre's attic. It is worth doing even without the trophy: the Madhouse run feels very different with an upgraded weapon.
Consumerism in the Vein — 89.58%. Buy an item from the supply case. The first appears at the central Raccoon City camp, and it does not matter what you buy. It is also where the credits for I Can't Believe It get spent — it asks for 200,000 — so do not hoard out of caution.
Aggressive Driving — 87.95%. Stop one of Victor's attacks on the highway, during the chase.
