The same chase, twenty points apart: why Sugisato costs twice what Ebisugawa does

Eight feats of combat, escape and exploration, with the exact point where each condition begins. Two are the same mechanic in two areas, and one is its reverse: here you do not flee, you chase.

The three fog monster feats

Like the Fleeing Hare — 55.47%. Escape the Ebisugawa fog monster without taking a single hit. The condition starts the moment you reach the bazaar.

It is a scripted chase: the trick is not stepping on the red tentacle patches on the ground, which is what slows you down and sinks the run. Scripted grabs do not count as hits, so do not restart if the game catches you in a cutscene.

It is the most common feat of all.

Agile Escape — 37.00%. The same idea but in Sugisato: escape the fog monster without being touched. The condition starts when you take the small gate key and jump.

This second chase is longer and more cluttered with obstacles, and it shows in the numbers: almost twenty points apart for the same mechanic. If the first came first try, do not assume this one will.

Where Are You Going? — 45.15%. Catch the fog monster 3 times. The condition starts as soon as you enter the area.

It is the reverse of the previous two: here you do not flee, you chase. Which is exactly why it is worth knowing before you walk in — the instinct trained at Ebisugawa and Sugisato is precisely the wrong one.

Key

In the Ebisugawa and Sugisato chases, scripted grabs do not count as hits. What breaks the trophy are the red tentacle patches on the ground.

Two fights, one door and two people walk right past

Untouchable — 38.25%. Open the treasure door on the shrine path without taking a single hit. The condition starts when you interact with the shrine puppet where the sword was.

Enemies are present while you work the door, so the strategy is to clear the area before touching it rather than trying to open it under pressure. Almost everyone's mistake is starting to open with enemies still alive.

Go Away — 36.13%. Defeat the giant monster that appears in front of Chizuruya's bazaar. The condition starts when you reunite with Shu and Rinko by the bazaar.

It is an optional fight you can slip past without ever knowing it was there, and that is exactly what most people do. That 36.13% does not measure difficulty, it measures how many people knew there was a fight.

No One Left Behind — 48.14%. Stop the enemies behind the white rabbit emblem door from reviving. The condition starts when you enter the east side of the main hall.

It happens in the worship hall section. Downed enemies get back up if you do not finish them on the ground, so you have to close out rather than push forward: each one is finished before you move to the next.

And two that only ask for attention:

O Divine Tree — 67.89%. Discover the millennial cedar, in the mountain area near Sakuko's shrine. Climb the stairs up to the Millennial Cedar.

It is the game's most common feat, practically level with finishing the story, because it sits along the way.

A Federal Offense — 56.40%. Open the mailbox at the Igarashi residence. The condition starts when you take Sakuko's mailbox key.

It is among the list's simplest and even so plenty of people walk past without interacting with the mailbox. Five seconds if you know it is there.
